ISLAMIC CENTRE

Al Markaz Al-Islami (Islamic Center) is one of luxurious mosques in Asia. It is the largest mosque in the Eastern Indonesia. Besides functioning as a center of worship, it also is used as one for educational activities such as seminar, English meeting, and Japan course. It also equipped by library and large auditorium.

Al Markaz Al-Islami, stands in a 10 hectares, in downtown Makassar. This worship center appears dominant due to its size and lovely shape. It reflects the integration of the Islamic values, colored by the local and modern cultures as the symbol of pride and identity of the city.

The ground floor used for office, auditorium, school, and a library. The second floor is designed without pillars for 10.000 capacities of people. The third floor is designed in U formation 2.000 m² large and 8 m wide for women.

The mosque has 5 towers. One of them stands 87 m height. On its top, there is a loudspeaker designed by Japanese expert to make the azans’ sound throw for about 3 km away.This glorius building is located in the Masjid Raya Street
